Exercises

March 29, 2018

The following laboratory exercises are designed to give you experience creating and running test profiles similar to tests conducted in the real world. These tests will exhibit the differences between the tests discussed previously. The exercises and questions vary in difficulty, and several sample answers can be found in the Appendix.

These modules should be used with VibrationVIEW in Demonstration mode, which requires a key. If you have not already, select Configuration > Mode > Demonstration > 4 channels, and set the Network Card to Demonstration Mode. The program will lead you through the process of obtaining a key from Vibration Research.

Running Tests with a Shaker

If your university/organization is equipped with a shaker system(s) and VR hardware, the following test modules must be edited to work within the limits of the shaker.

WARNING: Do not attempt to run the proceeding test profiles on a live shaker without properly configuring the system limits to reflect the safe operating parameters of the shaker. These test profiles are designed specifically for Demonstration mode and will cause damage to a shaker if not properly configured.

We hope these exercises will provide foundational knowledge on how to operate VibrationVIEW and serve as an introduction to the field of vibration testing. If you have any additional questions, please contact Vibration Research.
