The Random Test Generation option in ObserVIEW uses the fatigue damage spectrum (FDS) to generate an accelerated random test profile from multiple channels or files. The result is a test profile encompassing some or all forms of potential fatigue. The VibrationVIEW control software supports these test profiles, making it easy to navigate from analysis to testing.
Overview
To create an FDS-correlated test from multiple files, the engineer defines the lifetime cycle of the test item and the field environments it experiences within that cycle. A multiplier is assigned to each of the environments to simulate an equivalent overall lifetime usage target with correct amounts of fatigue damage from each. Engineers can set the test duration and confirm the acceptability of the accelerated profile with the ERS tolerance.
Video
The following video uses data from a case study to demonstrate how to create an accelerated random vibration test profile from field data. With the Random Test Generation in ObserVIEW, users can import recorded data from different environments and analyze and compare fatigue damage. From there, they can define an accelerated test profile that accounts for the amount of damage relative to each environment.
This video navigates the software and offers tips on how to process data.
